Fun Activities For Rainy Days

Winter time means cold weather, rainy days and even snow fall. Staying inside the house doesn’t mean you can’t have a  great day of fun. Here are some great suggestions that our staff has come up with and thoroughly enjoy:

Morning Tranquility
Drink Tea & Stretch

Tea in the morning is a great way to re-hydrate your body and calm your mind.  In addition, some studies have suggested that by pairing tea and a short workout especially in the morning  can help speed up calorie burning.  

Afternoon Adventures
Bring the Outdoors Indoors

Pitch a  tent and fill them with sleeping bags, which is fun for kids and adults as well! If you do not have a tent, do not worry. You can build a fort with blankets, pillows, sheets, chairs, books, cardboard boxes, and pretty much anything. As long as you think it you can build, but don’t forget safety pins and clothespins.  

Board Game Marathon

pexels-photo-84663Holidays aren’t the only time to break out the board games. Rainy days are a great time to unplug and gather with family and friends to get a little competitive.

Playing board games can exercise your brain by learning something new, improving memory, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, and foster positive communication skills.

Baking and Cooking Kitchen Experiments

cookies-christmas-xmas-bakingMake your favorite dish or try one of those recipes you’ve pinned and bookmarked such as cheesy chicken pull-apart bread, Bismarck potato pizza, tornado dog, and of course, desserts! A homemade meal with a loved one is a tasty and fun way to make some good memories, warm you up, and fill your belly.

Winding Down at Night
Relax, Refresh, and Renew

Finish the day off by listening to your favorite songs, light a candle, and slip into a soothing bubble bath to take some time for you. With the frightful weather outside, it is a great time to re-hydrate and choose a moisturizing soap blend to help relax your mind, body, and soul.
