Coffee with Jose: Teasia Sumatra Mandheling

A Slice of Bread

I started my morning with a cup of Sumatra Mandheling coffee, I had it straight black. The aroma coming from my cup had a really earthy tone. I took my first sip and was instantly hit with a smoky and strong (for me) taste which wasn’t enjoyable for me. I would like to point out that there was no acidic taste whatsoever within the coffee just a really strong taste. A lot of my fellow coworkers love that strong jolt from a cup of joe so I would definitely recommend it if you’re like my coworkers. Since this coffee isn’t acidic, adding some creamer and sugar to it would be most enjoyable with a slice of banana bread.

If you’re not familiar with this type of single origin coffee, here’s a brief description about it: Grown on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, Mandheling is known for its full body and vibrancy. The flavor develops well because of the rich volcanic soil and tropical climate.  This coffee is full and complete with an Earthy aroma and tones of sweet chocolate.
