Coffee with Jose: Kenya AA

Close up Kenya AA Brew

I started my Wednesday morning with cup of Kenya AA (K-Cup) with nothing else added. A wonderful citrus aroma fills the whole office floor as I prepare to drink my cup of coffee. My first sip consisted of an acidic and bitter flavor, then after proceeded to take smaller sips of coffee to be able to finish my cup. The more I sipped my cup eventually I hit the point of where I started to enjoy the taste, but it is something not everyone will enjoy or push themselves to drink. For anyone who enjoys a strong coffee flavor I would highly recommend Kenya AA. I will be having Kenya AA from now on with creamer and sugar added.

Kenya AA is a rich and vibrant bodied coffee and has a deep wine-like acidity along with a pleasant citrus aroma. If you’re into wine, this may be the coffee for you. Did you know that Kenya AA is considered to be one of the world’s best coffee beans- the area has a reputation for absolute excellence, especially because it lies near the region where coffee beans first originated. Grown on volcanic soils and high altitudes, beans grow slower allowing more time for flavor development and maturity.

Summary

Throughout the few months of doing these coffee reviews I’ve learned to appreciate the many different flavors each coffee bean and K-cup has to offer. I’ve never considered myself a huge coffee guy nor do I claim to be one but, I’ve learned that each coffee brings its own personality, culture and roast to each cup. I’ve enjoyed the wonderful taste of Donut Shop Blend which comes with a smooth smoky flavor that I really enjoyed and would look forward to drinking each morning. One of the K-cup coffees that I didn’t really enjoy just because the flavor was to strong for me and it was a fight for me to actually drink and enjoy the herb like flavor Ethiopia Yirgacheffe had to offer. I would strongly recommend anyone to Ethiopia Yirgacheffe K-cup if you’re someone who like a strong and earthy flavor in your coffee as it is one of the more complex coffee flavors I’ve had so far.

Don’t forget, Teasia just came out with some new coffee blends in convenient k-cups.

Coffee with Jose: House Blend

Coffee and a Pie

I started my work day with a fresh cup of Teasia House Blend in K-Cup form and so far, the aroma of the coffee is a perfect blend mixture of flavors. My first sip consisted of a smooth and smoky coffee flavor which I found to be really pleasant. Anyone looking for coffee with a great mixture of flavors should really consider drinking or at least trying Teasia House Blend. This is definitely a daily coffee flavor that I can start everyday with. I ended pairing my cup of coffee with a a fruit tart with mostly blueberries for those antioxidants which were the perfect pair!  If you’re looking to try a new coffee flavor go ahead and give this one a try.

Coffee with Jose: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

Ethiopia at work

Mid-way through work I needed a mid-week push. Today’s coffee of choice was Ethiopia Yirgacheffe a coffee with exotic flavors along with some spices and herbs. One of the scents that I’m gathering from the coffee are herbs along with a nice smell of the coffee bean itself which are two of the main scents that stand out to me currently. My first sip was like drinking a cup of water soiled in herbs which provided me with an acidic and bitter taste. I would like to note that the coffee itself isn’t strong or super acidic but it is a flavor that one would have to grow into enjoying. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who doesn’t drink a lot of coffee but instead to someone who enjoys a unique and complex cup of coffee. If I were to drink this coffee flavor again, I would add some creamer and sugar to sweeten up the taste to my liking.

Single Origin coffee from Ethiopia Yiracheffe is known as some of the highest quality Arabica coffee beans in the world and is known for its high quality and unique fragrance and distinctive flavor. For all those coffee connoisseurs out there, this is the one to try. We have whole roasted coffee beans and convenient k-cups to drink at the office.

Coffee with Jose: Brazil Fazenda

Brazil paired with Creamer

This morning, I made myself a cup of Teasia Coffee Brazil Fazenda in a K-Cup.  I did add some creamer and sugar to my coffee so keep that in mind. The aroma was pleasant and not only did I enjoy the wonderful taste of the coffee with the creamer. During each sip I’m left with a nice smoky aftertaste which is enjoyable and leaves you feeling satisfied a energetic. I enjoyed my coffee and will be looking forward to enjoying my next coffee. If you’re someone who is looking to try a new flavor of coffee, I would highly recommend making Brazil Fazenda your next choice.

For those of you who are not familiar with this single origin flavor, it is smooth and light with hints of hazelnut and cocoa that balance out sweet berry tones. Did you know that Brazil is one of the highest coffee producing countries in the world? Because Brazil is hot and humid, it’s one of the perfect places to grow coffee. At Fazenda de Lagoa, several generations have been dedicated to their plantations and have made coffee cultivation not just their business, but their lifestyle.
